Children and Youth

Children and youth are a vibrant part of our community at St. Mark’s. We create space for wonder and exploration of Bible stories, provide opportunities for making friends, and lead activities with parishioners of all ages.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday morning activities for children and youth are scheduled in tandem with the 10:00am worship service. Please walk your child(ren) to the Education Wing where the age appropriate activities below will take place. Children and youth, ages PreK through Grade 12, will be brought to the sanctuary to rejoin their parents in worship at the Peace. (Visit this webpage if you’re not sure where “the Peace” fits in to the order of worship, or even what it is!)

Nursery
Ages 0 - 3
Available each Sunday from 9 - 11:30am in the Education Wing
The nursery provides childcare for babies during Sunday morning church activities.

Godly Play
PreK - Grade 5
Meets Sundays at 10:00am in the Education Wing
On Sunday mornings during the school year, children ages three through fifth grade enter a specially designed and furnished room to participate in a wonderful, transformative forty minutes called Godly Play.

Youth Classes
Grades 6 - 8: Meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 10:00am in the Education Wing*
Grades 9 - 12: Meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday at 10:00am in the Education Wing*
Youth participate in weekly class or volunteer activities where they create friendships and learn about the Bible and the Christian faith.

*On weeks where your child doesn’t have class, we will invite them to participate, according to their interests, in worship and/or other Sunday morning activities.

Children’s Choir
Kindergarten - Grade 5
Meets Sundays at 11:30am in the Music Room
Children in Kindergarten through Grade 5 are welcome to join the children's choir. Mr. Tubbs teaches the basics of singing and reading music in a fun atmosphere, and the choir sings in worship a few times a semester.

Register Your Child

At the beginning of each new year, or if you’re new to St. Mark’s, we invite you to fill out a registration form. This helps keep our records up-to-date with any changes to your child's information.

Weekly Email for Parents

We send an email each Friday with details about the coming Sunday’s happenings for children and youth as well as details about how to participate in upcoming special events. If you’ve registered your child for this program year (2023/2024), you’ll already be on the email list!
